I collect games, ALOT of games (not the new generation: xbox, gamecube, ps2). Its my hobby Whenever there is an old game that "looks" good on the PC/psx, I buy it. I'm planning a huge html/java based Game center filled with extras, cover scans, and all. This would be the introduction screen.
Items: Pong(atari), Pacman (Arcade), Mushroom (nintendo), Rings (sega), Tetris (dunno), BusterSword (Sony)
I chose the rings to depict sega's influence because its more common, you see a ring, you'll instantly know who it belongs to. The chaos emerald didnt make it because it doesnt make appearances in some of the sonic games.
I was about to model the socom instead of the bustersword because Metal Gear Solid was the first GREATEST game I have ever played, but seeing how FF7 was also a GREAT game, a revolutionary RPG, and made the psx known, I figured I should model the sword instead. Besides, a silenced socom gun with rings and a cute little mushroom, will develop mixed feelings.
Oh, and no triforce/energy-can here, but will appear elsewhere
As for the Joystick, I didnt want to model a gamepad because earlier consoles and computers didnt use them. Also the buttons may vary depending on the complexity of the console. A fire and jump button is all you need to get around
There's still more to model, do you have any suggestions?

Everyone is beautiful in their own way, no matter what other people say about them. One day when I get a new hard drive, I am gonna install both Windows and Linux in there.
Neat ideas. Unfortunately, it's a bit too dark to see very much. Maybe my monitor's too dark, but I can't actually make out anything except for the rings, joystick and mushroom. Also, the rings stand out a lot lot more than anything else, so maybe you need to make them fit in a bit more. I think the joystick is a better idea than a joypad in this pic, purely for compositional reasons. It gives something tall, which adds to the depth of the image. Good choice
Anyway, everything looks well modelled. Nice work.
Super job! You certainly chose your items well; I recognized each of them, and each brought a warm, fuzzy surge of nostalgia to me. This is a wonderfully imaginative tribute to the world of gaming with the dramatic lighting and the perfectly modeled and rendered items. This is beyond cool.
